Years ago high school coaches would have to call college coaches to inform them of a stellar player. Nowadays things are done differently. Kids who receive scholarships to play college athletics have played on a travel team or have attended a plethora of showcases in order to display their talents. College coaches receive and sometimes purchase scouting reports from outside sources. These sources are usually recruiting services that also help athletes receive a scholarship.
